Bison gores Yellowstone visitor, tosses her 10 feet, park officers say

A girl visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officers mentioned Tuesday.

The 25-year-old woman, who was visiting from Ohio, was not recognized in a information release from the park.

The lady approached the female bison Monday morning after it got here near a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, near Outdated Devoted geyser, the park mentioned.

Park guidelines require guests to stay more than 25 yards from the animals, the most important mammals in North America, which are unpredictable, can top speeds of 35 mph and might jump several ft.

An estimated 2,300 to five,500 bison reside at the park, and they have injured more individuals than another animal, the park mentioned.

When the visitor got here inside 10 ft of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 feet within the air, the park said.

The woman had puncture wounds and different accidents and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service said. Her situation was unknown Tuesday.
