Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested at 11:44 p.m. PT and charged with driving below the influence and driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or increased, in keeping with the Napa County Criminal Justice Network's public reserving report. Each fees are misdemeanors.
TMZ was the primary to report the arrest.Pelosi was trying to cross SR-29 when his 2021 Porsche was hit by a 2014 Jeep touring northbound on the road, in response to a collision report from the California Highway Patrol, which does not identify either driver as being at fault in the crash. Troopers had been known as to the scene simply before 10:30 p.m., the report said.
There have been no injuries reported within the crash and the Jeep's driver was not arrested, the report stated.
CNN has reached out to the highway patrol and the Napa County Sheriff's Office for added particulars.
Bail was set at $5,000 based on the booking report, and records indicate Pelosi was launched Sunday morning.
"The Speaker is not going to be commenting on this non-public matter which occurred whereas she was on the East Coast," an announcement from Drew Hammill, Pelosi's spokesperson, said. CNN reached out for an up to date statement after the collision report was released.
