Man arrested in connection with “college shooter” indicators found in 3 New Hampshire communities

BARNSTEAD, N.H. -- A man was arrested Friday after a number of signs saying "faculty shooter" have been present in Barnstead, Epsom, and Pittsfield, New Hampshire, the state's Department of Security introduced. Guy Hanson, 61, of Pittsfield, faces multiple charges. 

An elevated amount of police officers were positioned at faculties in the communities on account of the signs. Multiple colleges initiated lockdowns as a precaution shortly after.

Hanson allegedly positioned the indicators across the communities, the Department of Safety said, however they decided there isn't any credible menace at the moment.

One such sign was written on a paper plate. The security division launched a photo of the plate however blurred a part of it "to guard the integrity of the investigation." 

Hanson was arrested on a felony cost of felony threatening and three misdemeanor prices together with false report to regulation enforcement, false public alarm and legal threatening. He is being held in Merrimack County Jail pending a hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

No different suspects have been charged presently.
